Tranquillity Island Resort & Dive Base is one of Vanuatu’s best kept secrets. Tranquillity is a Dive Base and Resort with Outdoor and Eco Tourism activities including Scuba Diving, Snorkelling, Swimming, Reef-Walking, Kayaking, Canoeing, Hiking, Cave Exploring or just relaxing on our sunny beaches.
Full PADI Dive Courses are available. From Introductory Dives to Dive master, including many Specialties. With over 15 Dive sites, you never have to dive the same place twice! - unless, of course, you want to!
The Resort also is a Turtle Sanctuary. This project has been developed to raise and release baby Hawksbill turtles. Enquire about sponsoring a Turtle!!

The Resort is based on 380 hectares of tropical jungle on Moso Island, located off the north west side of the island of Efate. Our mainland departure point follows a scenic 35 minute bus ride from Port Vila and a 25 minute boat ride to Tranquillity.

Accommodation |
|
Accommodation is island-style thatched bungalows (fares) on the water’s edge, each with their own flush toilets and hot and cold showers. Fares are suitable for singles, couples and families. We also have two dormitories, sleeping up to 8 persons. The birds wake you in the morning and you fall asleep to the soft sound of the water lapping the shore. Our fares are not your "normal" western style accommodation but are Island style. We have rated them at about five coconut leaf standard, a very Pacific way. Comfortable and unique, but do not expect a five star first world style presentation, we provide what has been lost!
Recently we have added two more up market Beach Lodges which are a bit more western with ensuite facilities but still very much Island style with Solar lighting.
Camp sites are also available. Three level sites - one close to our resort, one on a secluded beach and one on an outpost ... secluded and with minimal facilities. Enquire about our two day one night Abandoned Beach Kayaking Safari which is ideal for those wanting something different, gourmet food hamper and Island guides to assist when required.
The utility systems of the island are based on Eco Tourism style with Biological Waste Disposal Systems and Eco style lighting. Generated power is available to charge batteries etc.

Meals are served at our Beach House and are of restaurant quality. Meals are generally part of a meal package. This is necessary because of our isolation, there are no shops on the island. Most meals are made from local, naturally organic food. The menu is a revolving set menu however guests can advise if they wish vegetarian or other special dishes. A limited bar service with beer, soft drinks and wine is available.

"COONGOOLA"
A ’Must do’ excursion ideal for all ages. A spacious 23 metre timber sailing ketch with twin diesel back up power, dinghies, snorkelling gear ... and can carry 60 passengers. Available to our Resort guests and also to day-trippers from Port Vila.
The full day Cruise includes Transfers, Morning and Afternoon Tea, delicious Beach BBQ Lunch, and use of snorkelling gear.
The cruise runs daily from Havanah Harbour, on the North West side of Efate - The leeward side. Cruise begins with a leisurely motor on the tranquil waters of the magnificent sheltered harbour and depending upon weather on to our ’Sun and Moon Bay", visiting our Baby turtle conservation rookery at Tranquillity on the way through.
Secluded coves and beaches with fine white sand. Enjoy a dip in the crystal clear water, snorkel the coral reef, savour the delicious barbecue, feed the tame fish or soak up the sun with a cool drink or two ... or curl up under a palm and read a book with toes in the sand and relax.
One of our beaches has thermal springs with warm mineral water flowing out of the sand in chest deep water a few meters from the shore.
Choose your own theme, it can be adventure, fun, romance or just plain relaxing. Optional scuba diving on request with 30 to 40 meters visibility - Diving and Snorkelling is GREAT!
On return, our friendly crew will serve you tropical fruits and hoist the Main and Jib for an afternoon sail; we usually finish off with a farewell gesture from our dolphin friends who lead us back to our departure point. A trip not to be missed in Vanuatu!
